The Show!

I have been meaning to post all week about the show last weekend. We took the kids to the show and we had the most wonderful time! Jasmine had an ABSOLUTE ball at the show and Kyan was on his best behaviour too even tho he hadn't had a nap all day.

Jasmine got her face painted again this year. Dean and Jaz went alone last year because I was not yet up to going to the show after having only had Kyan a short time beforehand. I was still recovering from the c-sect and didn't feel up walking around for several hours just yet. (not to mention being rather tired etc!)

Anyway, I as looking forward to it this year since Jasmine had such a wonderful time last year.

She got her face painted last time too, but last time was a mermaid, even tho I could have sworn it as a butterfly! Anyway, this time she is fairy and I thought she looked adorable! ;-) She rather enjoyed it herself and I suspec felt rather pretty! I tried to call her Fairy Jasmine but that didn't fly.. it still is JUST Jasmine! LOL

Both Jasmine and Kyan LOVED the puppet show which they apparently also had last year.

Here is Jaz watching the show. My heart melts when I see her looking so happy. ;-)

And this is her when the kids were supposed to tell the crocodile (Snap) that Punch as asleep.

As you can see she got rather animated and had a wonderful time! She also managed to have a go at the clowns, she got a show bag, ate a hot dog, shared a milkshake with daddy, visited the baby animals (some of which were not that baby!), WALKED without complaining for 4 hrs! (with a couple of rest stops)

I was soo amazed. I wanted to bring our second pram but it was broken. But she did fine! Made me feel much better about hopefully going to Sea World at the end of the year without a second pram!

As I said, Kyan also LOVED the puppet show. He was clapping with everyone else at all the appropriate times and even watched most of the show which I found amazing!

Jasmine went on the jumping castle as well. My have jumping castles changed a lot since I was a little girl! They are not exactly a castle anymore but rather a jumbo slide and mansion rolled into one! LOL

Last year, apparently Jasmine would not go further than the very front part of the castle. This year, she climbed right on, headed straight for the 'stairs' to the slide and began climbing...she climbed, and climbed and climbed, my heart was in my throat when she slipped a couple of times...but she managed to hold on. I was sure when she got to the top and realised just how high it was that she would get upset and I would have to climb up after her.. since I was the closest and Dean was with Kyan. I was soo not looking forward to THAT idea! Anyway.. she got right up to the top without hesitation...and well the pics say it all!

The pics really don't show just how steep those 'steps' were and how steep that slide was.. I can't believe she not only went down the slide, but went back up again for more! When she got to the bottom after her first go I was flabbergasted, as was Dean. She was exhilerated and promptly told the guy running the castle that she could do it now because she was a BIG sister! He he. She then continued to tell him that she was very strong and had big muscles. ROFL!

I am so dying to scrap these photos, but have not yet had a chance.. hopefully this week! I need to get some layouts done as I have been given the opportunity to have a book of my layouts custom printed. I had better get cracking!

I am thinking about changing my blog to my own site. I want to make it a bit more personal and pretty it up a bit. First I need to find some good easy to customise blog software that is free. LOL Suggestions are welcome! ;-) I am looking at wordpress.. it doesn't look to bad but I am not sure how easy it will be to customise, I want something a little different than the standart templates.

WHY must they....

Continuously play that horrible horrible ad on tv of the car accident where the baby gets hit by a car. I HATE that ad with a passion. The first time I saw it I felt physically ill. Now whenever it comes on we try to change the channel so we don't have to watch it. If I am not near the remote I cover my hears and shut my eyes till it is over.

I quite honestly find that ad traumatic to watch.. is there REALLY a need to show all the terror, blood and gore of such a horrifying accident in such graphic detail?? I think not. I am sorry but I think in this case their shock tactics have gone WAY to far. I wish they would get rid of it. It has been playing for a while now and I have soooo had enough of it.

Ok, there is my rant for the day.. I really must ring the stations that show it and complain..(just another thing to add to my list of things I have to do!) Ok, that is my rant for the day!

Cyclone Larry Fundraiser

I am very excited to have been approached by Trish Jones to host a fundraiser kit for Cyclone Larry. She, Tracy Ann Robinson and Kylie Clark (who is one of CD's recent new designers! ;-) ) designed the kit in order to (obviously) raise funds for Cyclone Larry victims. I am ecstatic to be able to do my small part by having the kit in our store. As you can see by the preview, the kit is just GORGEOUS! These gals have really put together an amazing kit!

I managed to get it uploaded just before I went away for the weekend (my very patient hubby waited for me to finish in between packing etc) and we stayed at my brothers. Of course his puta is being fixed so I couldn't check how sales were going and I was going crazy. Anyway, we got home this evening and sales are doing great. I am soo happy to see that there are many designers out there whos names I recognised, who have been supporting the cause and a large majority of people buying the kit are American! THANK YOU!

So, if you love to digiscrap and want a kick butt kit, or if you just want to contribute to a good cause.. or know someone who would enjoy the kit, head on over to the clikchic designs store, and buy it now! All proceeds go to Cyclone Larry Victims.

A flower for the Caterpillar

Jasmine did a drawing of a flower at Pre-Prep today. She told the teacher it was a flower for the Caterpillar to eat. I thought it was so cute, I just had to scan it for my blog! ;-)

Good Article on PCOS

I haven't been involved in PCOS support for a while now, since the kids came along I don't have as much time to devote to it. My priorities have now changed from conceiving being my primary focus. I always said that once I had my family I would get started on improving my lifestyle so that health played a much more important focus for me. While we were trying to conceive I just didn't feel I could focus on both infertility and weightloss.

I have always made some kind of effort to try and eat healthy, although this has somewhat fallen by the wayside with the Chaos of having two kids! However, now that Kyan is getting close to weaning, the time is coming that I need to start getting serious about eating low GI, getting back on Metformin (in the hopes of preventing diabetes) and hopefully loosing some weight.

Weaning Kyan is proving to be a challenge. He cannot have cows milk as he is milk protien intolerant. He has soy in his cereal and his custard, but will not drink it. (don't blame him!) I have been told you can get soy yogurt so we will have to look out for it next time we do shopping. I had gotten Kyan down to two breastfeeds a day, and then he developed gastro so I had to increase his feeds again to keep his fluids up and as he wasn't up to eating/drinking much but tolerated his breastfeeds really well.

I have only just got him back on fruit again which is still giving him a little bit of diarreah. My next step is to try goats milk. I gave him a little yesterday and he didn't think too much of it, but on the bright side, he didn't get any adverse reaction to it. Given his severe reaction to pizza crust that had dairy in it, I think that was a good sign! If he won't take goats milk I am not sure what we will do. At the moment the only drink he will drink is water. Anyway, I will keep trying the goats milk and see how he goes, hopefully he will develop a liking for it. Jasmine had no interest in forumula until she completely weaned, so maybe Kyan will be the same with milk.

Anyway, I digress! Once I have weaned Kyan I am going to concentrate more on loosing weight. With Jasmine I lost all my pregnancy weight without even trying by the time she was 8wks old, but 12mths on after Kyan and my pregnancy weight is still hanging around. So, it is time to get serious!

While I am no longer active in PCOS support groups online and in real life, I am still a member of POSAA. I am pleased to see they are still up and running. It is great to see! For a while there it looked as if they wouldn't continue. What got me started rambling about PCOS? I got sent a link to a PCOS article by one of the committee members of POSAA. Great article! Thanks for sharing Shayne! ;-) It has reminded me I need to get stuck into doing something about it again.. I have been pretending I don't have it for a while there! LOL I could certainly use some relief from my constant lethargy. Hopefully loosing some weight and getting started back on Metformin will help me out there. As soon as I have weaned Kyan I will go to my gp and get a full health workup done, and then get stuck into it. I think it is probably about time I had another GTT done as well. It will be interesting to see how my insulin resistance has held out since I was last tested!

Anyway, enough rambling from me! ;-)
